Kukadi Educatin Society’s Savitribai College of Arts is one of the well-established colleges of the tehsil Shrigonda and in the village Pimpalgaon Pisa in Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra State, India. It is located 44 KM towards South from District head -quarters Ahmednagar, 232 km from State capital Mumbai. Pimpalgaon Pisa Pin code is 413703 and postal head office is Visapur (Ahmednagar) Pimpalgaon Pisa is surrounded by Daund Taluka towards South, Karjat Taluka towards East, Shirur Taluka towards west, Parner Taluka towards North. Shrigonda, Daund ,Shirur are the nearby Cities to Pimpalgaon Pisa. The area of Pimpalgaon Pisa is 3475 hectors. The total population of the village is more than ten thousand. The village, Pimpalgaon Pisa is a place having history, from medieval to British period. The village is well known for cooperative sugar factory (K. S. S. K. Limited), Renukamata Temple, Visapur Jail, Visapur Dam, Beggar’s Home etc. A big canal named as ‘Hanga Jalsetu’ passes nearby is built with new technology and with great effort of architecture. Visapur is the nearest railway station.
The present unit of the Parent institution is the Kukadi Education Society’s Savitribai College of Arts. Before 1999, in this village no facility for higher education was available. To overcome this scarcity Kukadi Education Society decided to start a senior college at Pimpalgaon Pisa, The founder of Kukadi Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd, Pimpalgaon Pisa, Late Kundalikrao Ramrao Jagtap Patil established this college. This college is a relatively small college functioning in rural area of Pimpalgaon Pisa, since June 1999. The college caters to the higher education requirements of the students in the vicinity through UG and PG programs like B.A. B.Com., B. Sc., M.A. Economics. The Arts faculty of the college is of Grant-in-aid in nature and permanently affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune whereas Commerce and Science faculties are self -financed in nature. Hence it is one of the youngest colleges in the locality. The college has started its journey from utilizing the ZP’s primary school building to well-equipped building in its own premises. Now the college is affiliated permanently to Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune) and recognized under 2(f) and 12 (b) by UGC
The college, since its inception, has rapidly grown in terms of both quantity and quality. Its growth is quite perceptible as there is consistent improvement in the student strength and its infrastructural facilities. This year, the college has enrolment of more than 600 students in all Streams. The institution has provided the building with good infrastructure facilities. The campus area is 10409 sq. mts. and build up area is 3684 sq. mts. The Institution has provided Staff Room, Computer Lab, extension departments, with the modern facilities. The college has made its impression in various sports activities too.
